Ready to Tack Fuse

I’d like to say that I purposely skipped the photographs to get these petite projects to this stage, but I forgot! But, in my defense, this larger project here has all of the exact same steps, just bigger.

But to recap, the blue chunks of glass at the left and right edges of the clear glass are simply spacers to make sure the stringers (the thin lines of glass, 2mm in diameter) are evenly spaced. At this stage, the clear glass is 3.25 x 5.25 inches. 

In the next stage, once the glass is tack fused, I cut off the spacers. After they’re gone, the tack fused pieces are 3.25×3.25 inches.

I then take the two tack fused pieces that make up a single project, flip one over, rotate it 90 degrees, and set it on the other. It forms a sort of glass sandwich. I fuse this glass bubble sandwich which is what you see in the next steps. But seriously, for all the details, see this other project here.

Many steps later now, these petite projects are completely fused. They’re on the back of the shelf, to the right, the smallest of all the squares.

Ready to Slump

I’ve only used these small square slumper molds once before (to make a sushi set). They’re adorable!

I have a lot of fun with these bubble projects and like to see the effect in all kinds of forms. These two petite plates are just so cute!
