All Assembled

There’s a lot going on here because I forgot to take pictures of the earlier stages. The entire layout is done on a clear piece of glass (5×14″) that is resting on the small bricks (which makes it easier to pick up later). On top of that rectangular piece of clear glass are nine 1-1/2 inch pieces of silver foil, created with the punch at the top of the photo. Then two strips of Tomato Red glass are laid on the base glass, at the two edges of the platter. Finally, three different types of reactive clear glass are laid across the foil. When fused, one of the clear glasses will turn the silver to gold, one will turn the silver to bronze, and one will have no effect on the silver at all.

Yet Another Full Fuse

Many of the red glasses from Bullseye are not food safe. To be extra careful, I give all non food safe glass a light coating of clear powder and fuse it again. It’s just enough to cover the red glass but not enough to make the surface cloudy.

Ready to Slump

I guess you could say that I’m a big fan of the rectangular form (mold 8925). I think it’s elegant.
